Dear Parent,
Welcome to the Super Crew roster with Super Baby Abigail, Andy, Marcus, Jessie, Tom-Tom, Penny, Kira, and Carlos! With the help of your new teammates, you can spark your child’s growing curiosity about foods to help transform them into more adventurous and healthier eaters.
Check out our fun interactive activities and recipes with tips to enjoy as a family. Occasionally you may also find a bonus coloring page or habit tracker. Look out for other fun helpful insights on kids and family nutrition.
Much like your child’s development, their perception of food and taste is “under- construction.” Lay the foundation for positive habits that will last a lifetime by connecting your kid to their food at a young age. Through consistent exposure to various colorful ingredients, kids will naturally learn to accept, embrace, and enjoy different foods. Here are tips to consider when embarking on this weekly adventure:
-
First thing’s first ⏤ kids hear everything, including parent’s perception of different foods. Avoid spoiling your child’s impression of fruits or vegetables with your own food prejudices. Just because you don’t want to broc’ on doesn’t mean that this cruciferous green won’t make your child’s tastebuds sing.
-
Preparing meals shouldn’t be a solo mission. Instead, fuel your child’s developing mind by including them in the purchasing, prepping, and cooking process. Kiddos are more likely to try foods that they helped create! And remember, patience is key. After all, small steps are still forward steps.
As you discover new tastes textures, let us know your new
household favorites!
